Greenfield Canal Volunteers Project Day - Saturday 14th December 2019
For our last meeting of 2019 we will be meeting at 10am at the Hall's Lock entrance to the towpath. Access by car is via Wellington Road, Greenfield.
We will be patching up areas of the towpath that have worn down to prevent puddles forming during periods of heavy rain but there are also other jobs such as litter picking, cutting back overgrown vegetation and brushing down steps to be done. All equipment will be provided but please wear clothing/footwear suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
We hope you are able to join us this weekend but if not we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during 2019. Over the last year we've given 450 hours of our time, laid 23 tonnes of stone, painted two lock gates, installed three community planters, pulled balsam, picked up litter, cut down self seeded trees and cleared overgrown vegetation - a really meaningful contribution to keeping our little patch of the Huddersfield Narrow beautiful.
We already have some dates in the diary for January (see below) and I'll shortly be publishing the meet up dates for the remainder of 2020 and early 2021.
Thank you again and we hope to see you soon.
